Since its inception over 60 years ago, Standard Office Supply has been family owned and operated. That now means that three generations of SOS family are at your service in our store. In all that time, we've built our reputation on a dedication to Blue Water Area businesses and communities.

Started as a typewriter repair and supplies business, the store’s first location stood on 10th Street in Port Huron, Michigan. In those days SOS’s current managing partner, Harlan Blomquist, spent his afternoons sleeping in a file cabinet drawer while his parents waited on clients.

Since then Harlan has grown a little — and under his watch the business has grown a lot. SOS is now a multi-million dollar business operating out of 10 buildings and headquartered at our main store at 928 Military Street in Port Huron.

SOS has also grown well past the realm of typewriter repair: office furniture, office designs, office systems, every supply you could ever desire — we really do have it all. And we’ll still repair your typewriter if you need it.

With 4 large warehouses, 6 delivery vehicles, 4 full-time sales representatives, 2 full-time, fully trained install managers,
3 generations of owners, and full-service online purchasing — SOS services over 30 different towns covering the entire Blue Water Area of Michigan. At SOS we know that serving and supporting local business helps to build our local community.
